1. Why do I need VideoDrive?

While you can easily add music files to iTunes, it is more difficult to add movies. You have to manually convert them into a supported format (QuickTime, MPG-4) before they can be added. Additionally, it is a labor intensive task to organize your videos, add the correct metadata and find cover art. Furthermore, some settings, including the tag line and the description of the video cannot be set through iTunes. With VideoDrive the whole import process of your videos is automated. Also, your videos are not reconverted so the quality of your videos stays optimal!

2. How do I install VideoDrive?

Download VideoDrive from our download page. When the download finishes, it will open as a virtual drive in Finder. Drag and drop the application to the Application folder and double click to launch it. Note that VideoDrive only supports videos that you can play in QuickTime. If you want to process videos including AVI, DIVX, XVID, MKV, WMV, etc. you need to install additional codecs on your machine. We recommend Perian and Flip4mac.

3. How do I purchase and register VideoDrive?

Click the ‘Buy Now’ button on the Downloads page. Our payment system uses Paypal and accepts credit cards. After a successful payment, your registration key will be sent to you within hours (maximum 12 hours, depending on server conditions). You can enter this key on the General tab of VideoDrive Preferences. Restart VideoDrive to save your registration settings. If you do not receive your key within 12 hours, please email us.

4. How do I remove VideoDrive?

Drag the Videodrive application to the trash to remove it. If you have VideoDrive menus in iTunes, you may want to go to VideoDrive preferences first, click on the iTunes tab and uncheck the option ‘Add VideoDrive options to the iTunes menu’. When you restart VideoDrive, the iTunes menus will be deleted. Last, if you have used Hot Folders, you can manually delete the ‘add - VideoDrive import video.scpt’ file located in /Library/Scripts/Folder Action Scripts.

5. How do I update VideoDrive?

In VideoDrive, select “Check for updates” in the File menu. VideoDrive will also automatically check for updates periodically.

6. Will videos imported with VideoDrive keep playing when VideoDrive is removed?

Yes. Existing videos imported with VideoDrive will always keep on playing correctly. Note that import methods 4 and 9 are not officially supported by Apple. It cannot be guaranteed that future versions of MacOSX or iTunes will not break playback of videos imported with those methods.

7. Is VideoDrive integrated with Mac OS X and other applications?

Yes. VideoDrive is integrated with Finder and iTunes. In Finder, you can CTRL-click any video and choose ‘Open with VideoDrive’ to import the video in iTunes. You can also drag the video to the VideoDrive application icon. In iTunes, VideoDrive options are available in the script menu bar (next to ‘Help’).

8. I have purchased VideoDrive but never received my registration key. What can I do?

After purchasing VideoDrive, your order will be processed and a personal registration key will be sent out to you by email. Usually this process takes under an hour, and is always completed within 12 hours (expect in the rare case of technical issues). If you have not received an email from Aroona Software within 12 hours, the email is most likely caught by your SPAM filter. Please check your spam folder to locate our email. If you cannot find the email, contact customer support. Please add our email address AroonaSoftware@gmail.com to the ‘allowed senders list’ of your email program to avoid that responses from customer support are also caught by your spam filter. You may also consider using a different email adress to contact us.

9. Can I install VideoDrive on multiple machines with  my license?

You are allowed to install VideoDrive on 2 machines on the condition you are the rightful owner of both machines. Do not give this personal key to third parties. If your key is used on multiple computers, your key will be invalidated and you will have to repurchase a new registration key in order to continue using VideoDrive. In the case you reinstall your system or upgrade your hardware, you will be able to reinstall VideoDrive by using the same key. In the event you receive the message ‘This key is invalid’, contact us by email to resolve this issue.
