importing DVD’s (beta)

requirements

VideoDrive supports importing DVD’s since version 2.5.

Importing DVD’s in iTunes will require video conversions. This means that only import methods 5 until 8 can be used. Also, you must select HandBrake or Elgato Turbo.264 (HD) as the conversion tool on the import tab of VideoDrive Preferences.

  1. 1)Place a DVD in the DVD-drive of your Mac or make sure you have copied the VIDEO_TS folder to your hard disk.

  2. 2)In VideoDrive, select import methods 5 until 8 and hit the “Import Videos” button

  3. 3)Select the VIDEO_TS folder and hit the “Start Import” button

  4. 4)If you have selected Automatic Metadata, VideoDrive will search online for metadata and artwork. If this fails, please contact us so we can further improve VideoDrive.

  5. 5)Conversion will start and the video will be imported.

The actual conversion process is done by HandBrake or Elgato Turbo.264 (HD). Incompatibilities between those tools and your DVD may arise, resulting in failure to import the DVD. Also, encrypted DVD’s may fail to import.
